“The Orbit of Eternity” – The Journey of Stone Through Time
In a world that constantly races toward the new, the sculpture “The Orbit of Eternity” seems to have been stilled by its own silence. It is a deeply symbolic work, uniting two different stones, two opposing times, two essences of the Earth: marble and volcanic tuff.
The marble disc, perfectly round, dominates the composition with its purity and simplicity. Its smooth surface reflects light in a cold, noble manner, evoking the eternity and stability of essential things. It is a pure form—a symbol of the endless cycle, of time flowing uninterrupted, spinning like an invisible orbit.
At the center of this circle of eternity lies an apparently foreign element—a spherical form resembling a planet, made of volcanic tuff. Its surface is marked by irregular holes, like traces of time or inner processes. The volcanic stone adds a dramatic note to the composition—it comes from the depths of the Earth, carrying with it the memory of fire and eruption. It is a living material, marked by chaos, in contrast with the geometric stillness of the marble.
This opposition between marble and volcanic tuff is not accidental.
The sculpture seems to speak about the relationship between order and disorder, between the stable and the ephemeral, between cold and hot, between what endures and what transforms. “The Orbit of Eternity” thus becomes a metaphor for our existence: an endless journey around a mysterious force, a pendulum swinging between balance and unrest, between past and present.
As you gaze upon the sculpture, you are invited not only to contemplate it but to feel it. It is poetry in stone, a silent message that, at the heart of the eternal, there always pulses a planet of change.
