Profile
About
Nueleanu Bogdan is a contemporary sculptor whose work challenges conventions and invites the viewer into a world where form defies expectation. He describes his artistic journey as a constant questioning of the most unexpected forms and formulas, resulting in surprising sculptures—each one a spark for imagination, a vessel for emotion, and a possible gateway to dialogue. His creations are not merely objects, but living ideas that resonate with those who encounter them.
Bogdan Nueleanu, born in 1978 in Săulești, Gorj County, Romania, is a visual artist based in Dumbrăvița, Timiș County. A graduate in Painting (2010) and Sculpture (Master’s, 2015) from the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, he is recognized for his distinctive artistic voice.
Working primarily in metal—bronze, stainless steel, and brass—Nueleanu creates both figurative and abstract sculptures, often blending the two into dynamic and thought-provoking forms. “I like to combine them,” he says, “to highlight the essential elements and explore the space in between.”
His creativity and craftsmanship have earned him numerous accolades, including the Juventus Special Prize (Interart Foundation Triade), the Youth Award (Union of Romanian Artists, Timișoara), and the Pro Cultura Timisiensis Award (Timiș County Council).
